Inauguration of the Indonesian Tourism Industry Association of the Riau Islands Province
The Indonesian Tourism Industry Association (GIPI) of the Riau Islands DPD which consists of Various Tourism Actors Associations in the Riau Islands has just been inaugurated on 12 October 2018 at Harmoni Hotel Batam.
The inauguration was carried out by the General Chairperson of the GIPI DPP, Didien Junaedy witnessed by the Governor of Riau Islands, Nurdin Basirun.
Governor of Riau Islands, Nurdin Basirun appreciated the presence of GIPI in Riau Islands. He hopes that GIPI can promote Kepri tourism, especially to foreign countries.
Nurdin Basirun, in Batam on Friday, said that his party is currently working to make Kepri tourism grow and develop so that it can support the City of Bali and DKI Jakarta.
“Many tourist destinations that we can push and sell, especially our geographical location is very promising,” he said.
The governor said, his side is currently building infrastructure to tourist destinations in the Riau Islands Province and one that can be raised is culture.
“We see many cultures in Riau Islands starting from Malay and other cultures from Sabang to Marauke in Kepri,” he said.
Inaugurated as chairman of the Kepri GIPI DPD is Tupa Simanjuntak from the Indonesian Hotel & Restaurant Association of the Riau Islands DPD (PHRI Kepri).
Tupa Simanjuntak said the Indonesian Tourism Industry Association (GIPI) itself had been established on April 7, 2011 referring to Law Number 10 of 2009 concerning Tourism.
The establishment of GIPI DPD Kepri becomes an umbrella for all tourism organizations in Indonesia, besides that GIPI also serves as a forum for coordination, communication and consultation for the tourism industry in every policy and program in the development of tourism destination promotion, human resource development to increase foreign tourist visits. country to Riau Islands.
Head of Tourism Office of Riau Islands Province, Boeralimar said the presence of GIPI (Indonesian Tourism Industry Association) Kepri could collaborate in developing tourism in the Riau Islands.
Head of Kepri Tourism Office, Buralimar also welcomed the presence of GIPI in Riau Islands and was ready to work together to increase tourist visits.
“GIPI is our partner in developing tourism,” he said.
Boeralimar added that the government is also sure that the development of foreign tourist visits in Riau Islands can be achieved better with the solid elements of Penthelix ABCGM (Acedemician, Business, Community, Government and Media) which are members of GIPI.
